Dog of the Month

Banner
Adult Blue tick

banner2.JPG

Meet Banner!  Banner is an amazing, gentle, and incredibly handsome hound with a personality that’s impossible not to love.  He is charming and possesses that beautiful, melodious vocal bay that most hounds only dream of having.  True to his hound nature, Banner will eagerly follow his nose wherever an intriguing scent may lead him—because of this, a secure, fenced yard is absolutely essential for his safety and happiness.  Banner thrives best in a home where he can be thoughtfully and patiently introduced to other dogs, especially males, as he naturally wants to be the leader of the pack.  He also has a playful side and is known to chew through leashes that aren’t chew proof, so sturdy gear is recommended for this clever fellow.  While Banner can be a bit shy at first, particularly around some men, he warms up quickly and transforms into the wiggliest, most affectionate chunk of love you’ll ever meet.  His gentle spirit and joyful energy make him a wonderful companion for the right home.

If you would like to meet this charming, gorgeous boy and see if he’s the perfect fit for your family, please submit your application

Frazier

Male Lab mix Needs to be an Only Dog

Meet Frazier, the ultimate furry tornado of joy! This young, loyal, and ridiculously smart pup prefers the spotlight as the only animal in the house. He’s potty-trained, soon-to-be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and all his lab work will be done—talk about a package deal! Frazier would love an active couple or a family with older kids to match his boundless energy (and to keep up with his zoomies). He’s a big-hearted boy just waiting to steal your couch and your heart! SL268240.

SPONSOR MY FOOD HERE

Meet Riley! Riley is not only gorgeous and sweet, but also HUGE—about 120 pounds of pure love. He’s not quite ready for his new home yet, as he’s waiting for his veterinary appointment, but applications are being accepted so he can be adopted once he’s cleared. He needs a strong person to walk him and a fenced yard to roam. He’s almost the size of a Shetland pony—just kidding, but close—and definitely needs space to move around. Riley is a fantastic dog, so get your application in ASAP! SL268240
For the best response to an inquiry about this animal, please fill out an application and return it to us. To find our application form click HERE. Thank you!

ALL puppies have to have a cash deposit left that you will receive back when you neuter or will be applied to neuter when they are old enough.  Sorry for the change but we have had issues with PayPal cancelations and worthless checks being used.

Dodger

Whippet/Bull Terrier Mix
image_edited.jpg
Meet the dashing Dodger! This wonderful young adult mixed breed is bursting with energy and playfulness. Dodger is great on a leash but has a knack for being an escape artist. His ideal home would be with someone who leads an active lifestyle and has plenty of space for him to burn off his energy. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, has completed blood work, and has been vet-checked. If you’re ready to meet the charming Dodger, submit your application ASAP! SL268240

Banner
Blue Tick Hound

Meet Banner!  Banner is a great big lovable boy with a jiggle in his neck wiggle.  He is great with other dogs and people.  He is about one year old and would do well in a home with an active lifestyle to be able to allow him to follow his nose around while being supervised...otherwise, his nose will surely lead him into trouble.  <3 To meet Banner get us your application ASAP.

Blue Berry
seven-month-old female hairless chihuahua
DIFFERENT ADOPTION FEE IS REQUIRED FOR HER ADOPTION... PLEASE EMAIL BEFORE APPLYING

bb1.jpg
Blueberry is the sweetest little girl I’ve met in a long time, and she’s completely stolen my heart. I’d adopt her myself if I weren’t away at work more than I’m home, but she deserves more time and attention than I can give. It’s heartbreaking, but her needs come first. I know there’s a perfect home out there for Miss Blueberry—one without small kids or large animals, and with someone who can meet her every precious need. She’s truly special: cuddly, full of kisses, and thrives on attention. She loves dressing up, has a wardrobe of fuzzy sweaters, and even wears her pearl doggy necklaces. Blueberry is a once-in-a-lifetime girl—spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and tested for heartworm and tick-borne illnesses. She’s healthy, loving, and won’t just go to the first applicant. She’ll be pampered until the perfect family comes along. She’s still working on potty training, using piddle pads and walking on a leash. Her adoption fee is higher, so please email with questions before applying. Details are on our adoption fee page, where some breeds require a higher fee to help others in need. She’s worth every penny, and I wouldn’t ask more than I’d pay myself for such a special girl.  SL268240

Piper
Young Female Adult Mixed Breed

Meet Piper! Piper is a beautiful, intelligent young adult female looking for her forever home. Like Bindi, she’s an Olympian-level jumper and runner. She could probably do the high jump and catapult over a fence—just kidding! But she’s full of energy, and her perfect home would be with someone who has an active lifestyle. She’s potty trained, very affectionate, and loves attention. Sometimes she can get overexcited, channeling her energy into jumping and twirling like a doggy ballerina. She needs a patient home to help her find a good outlet for her enthusiasm. To meet Piper, submit your application ASAP. SL268240

Ernie

IMG_0187_edited_edited.jpg
Meet our sweet Ernie, a lovable one-year-old pup weighing about twenty-five pounds. He’s fully potty trained, full of energy, and looking for someone who can keep up with his playful spirit. Ernie does have some knee pain and has seen a veterinarian and at some point in his life he may have more extensive knee issues, but for now he should just take it easy with no long walks etc. No matter what, he needs someone who will love him unconditionally—whether that means taking him on short daily walks or giving him a sunny spot to enjoy the outdoors when the weather’s nice, followed by plenty of couch time. Ernie cannot be by cats or probably not other small animals.  Ernie's ideal home would be no small children to harass and maybe be the only little stinker in the household because he wants all of the attention.  To meet Ernie, please send in your application ASAP.

Mystic

Adult German Shepherd Mix

mystic.jpg
Meet Mystic! She’s a stunning girl who needs to be the only diva in the home. She adores her family but isn’t suited for apartment living or trips to the dog park, as she doesn’t get along with other dogs. Protective and selective about who joins her inner circle, Mystic is a beauty on the lookout for her forever home. She’s strong yet incredibly loving. If you’d like to meet her, send in your application right away. SL 268240

Laney

Catahoula Leopard Mixed Breed

Meet the sweetest, most loving, large breed girl we have here at the Forest County Humane Society. Laney has the possibility of pregnant, so we’re waiting to find out before scheduling her spay. In the meantime, we’re accepting applications for our beautiful girl so that when she’s ready, her forever home will be waiting. Send in your applications as soon as possible. Sl268240

Bindi

bindi_edited.jpg
Meet Bindi! She’s a young adult female mix bursting with energy and affection. A talented high jumper, she might even have the skills of an Olympic superstar. Potty trained and fond of spending time in the yard, she’s a sweet dog who needs to be the only female or introduced to others in a controlled setting, as all dogs should be. Bindi would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard or a ten-by-ten enclosure where she can go out unsupervised. She loves people and soaking up attention. If she sounds like the perfect match, send in your application to meet her!
