Dog of the Month

Zeus

Zeus is a heartworm survivor! He’s an amazing medium-sized dog with plenty of energy and strength. Zeus isn’t fond of some men and would do best as the only pet in a household without children. For a single-family home with no pets or kids, Zeus could be the perfect companion and a loyal friend! SL268240

Frazier would love an active couple or a family with older kids to match his boundless energy (and to keep up with his zoomies). Dodger

Whippet/Bull Terrier Mix
dodger.jpg
Meet the dashing Dodger! This wonderful young adult mixed breed is bursting with energy and playfulness. Dodger is great on a leash but has a knack for being an escape artist. His ideal home would be with someone who leads an active lifestyle and has plenty of space for him to burn off his energy. Meet Maverick! This extraordinary dog is brimming with intelligence and thrives on spending time with his people while mastering new tricks. Although not well-trained yet, he’s at the perfect stage to join an active family with plenty of time and energy to share. Destined to be a very large dog, he’s best suited for a home rather than an apartment. Maverick will flourish with someone experienced in German Shepherds and ideally a fenced backyard. Meet Chowder

female, altered one year old, potty and crate trained

Meet Chowder, the pint-sized whirlwind with the spirit of a lion! She's a quick learner who could probably teach you a thing or two, but she needs some guidance to channel her boundless energy. A fenced yard is a must because Chowder doesn't believe in boundaries—literally. Her dream human is an adventure-loving individual or couple ready for car rides, ball-throwing marathons, and outdoor escapades. Chowder prefers to be the queen of her castle, so she’d thrive as the only dog in the home. Given her strength, an adult-only household is recommended. Bonus: she's heading to dog training soon to polish her already charming personality. Contact me ASAP to meet this four-legged dynamo! SL268240

Jimmy
Male Terrier 6 months

Meet Jimmy! Jim is an adorable bundle of energy—sweet, incredibly playful, and always on the move. He’s very small, so I’m asking for no small children due to his delicate frame. He gets along wonderfully with older kids and would be a perfect fit for an active family that can keep up with a spirited terrier who never seems to tire. Being a terrier, he naturally has the instinct to chase cats and other critters. If you’d like to meet Jimbo, please send in your application as soon as possible.

Rayne
female Kelpie

Meet Rayna: Your Future Furry Companion
About Rayna
Say hello to Rayna, a lively young adult Kelpie who's ready to herd her way into your heart—and your home. At just about two years old, Rayna is bursting with energy and a zest for life that could power a small city. Known for their exceptional herding abilities, Kelpies like Rayna are basically the Olympic athletes of the dog world. She’ll happily herd anything that moves: children, pets, and even the occasional unsuspecting adult. Don’t worry, it’s all in good fun, and it’s as much a part of her as her wagging tail!
Ideal Home for Rayna
Rayna dreams of a home brimming with activity, where her energy can be matched and then some. A spacious, fenced-in yard is a must because when it comes to jumping, Rayna could give a kangaroo a run for its money. Seriously, she’s got hops that would make a basketball player jealous! While she’s selective about her dog friends and prefers a cat-free zone, she thrives where she can run, play, and explore to her heart’s content.
Rayna's Personality
Despite her boundless energy, Rayna is a sweetheart who loves nothing more than a good cuddle. She’s the perfect mix of playful and affectionate, making her an ideal partner for an active lifestyle. Whether she’s chasing toys, zooming around the yard, or snuggling up on the couch, Rayna is all about living life to the fullest—and she’s ready to share the ride with you.
Health and Training
Rayna comes fully vetted, microchipped, and up-to-date on all her vaccines, ensuring she’s in tip-top shape. She’s also fully potty trained, so no surprises there! However, apartment living isn’t her style; she needs room to roam and a stage big enough for her antics.
Interested in Rayna?
If you think Rayna could be the hilarious, energetic addition your family needs, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact us at mailto:foresthumane1@yahoo.com or visit our website to submit your application: http://www.forestcountyhumanesociety.org.
Rayna is ready to bring joy, laughter, and a touch of chaos to a family that can keep up with her spirited nature. Are you the one to welcome her into your home?

Around four years old, he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had his blood work done. Jack is Lyme-positive but is currently receiving treatment. Captain

captain.jpg
Meet Captain! Captain is on the hunt for his forever home. He’s a cranky little chihuahua who loves attention—on his own terms, of course. Honestly, he’s like a grumpy old man trapped in a tiny dog’s body, but it’s all part of his charm! If you’re in need of a cantankerous yet lovable companion, get your application in ASAP. Due to his age and personality, Captain would thrive best in a home with no kids and as the only pet. Don’t miss out on this hilarious little character! SL268240

Martin

Beagle Mix

martin.jpg
Meet Martin! This lively beagle mix is full of energy and always ready for an adventure, following his nose to wherever mischief may be. He needs someone who can dedicate time to help him burn off his energy. Martin isn’t a cuddler unless it’s on his terms—he’s very affectionate but doesn’t enjoy being forced onto your lap. He’d make a great playmate for another dog or an older child who understands his boundaries. If you’d like to meet Martin, please send in your application ASAP. SL26824
