*Please Note: If you become approved to adopt from us and choose to commit to a certain animal that at the time is too young to adopt or may still need vaccinations or spay/neuter, we will accept a deposit to hold the animal for you until he/she is ready to go home. Please know that if you change your mind or if your circumstances change and you are no longer able to complete the adoption, these deposits are nonrefundable.The amount of this "HOLD FEE" varies, is set by Shelter management and depends on the animal in question.    

The Adoption Process:

When you decide to adopt an animal from Forest County Humane Society and ifyou are at least 18 years of age you must:    
    Fill out an application and meet the animal you wish to adopt.   
     If you rent please bring a copy of your lease or written approval from your landlord.    
After completion of an application, time for approval is about 36-48 hours as
references are checked.

All cat and kitten adoption fees include a spay/neuter, a Feline Leukemia vaccine, a 4-way vaccine, and a round of dewormer. If you are approved to take home a feline, please bring along a cat carrier at your time of pick up!

Meet Hope!  Hope is an adorable little girl that is shy and needs someone to call her their kitty.  She is about four months old and warms up quickly to whomever is holding her.  She will set on your lap for as long as you hold her and I am certain it would only draw her out more in a home setting.  If Hope sounds like she may be a good fit for you, please get us your application ASAP.
